The wonderful Legacy Project folks over at mjjc.com have established a Michael Jackson Memorial Fund with the Nature Conservancy that allows fans to donate 'plant a tree' money in Michael's honor. The following message is an excerpt from Nanci's post about it on mjjc:

The Nature Conservancy, the leading conservation organisation, is committed to protecting ecologically important lands and waters. They address threats to conservation, including climate change, partnering with indigenous communities, businesses and governments.

Fans can choose to donate as little as $10 US for 10 trees.

To donate you can:

PLEASE NOTE - if you choose to use this option you will need to send a separate email to email@example.com, providing them with your RECEIPT CODE and the REFERENCE NUMBER for Michael's fund. It may take a few weeks before you get a response from them, but they will respond and confirm your contribution!

Love it! Donating right now. You know, there's also a special Unicef fund in MJ's memory. Will try to find the info again to post, but I think right now funds are needed more for Haiti.
